The iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and Apple Watch Series 4 were released just over a week ago, and we've spent the last week testing each device and rounding up early impressions from around he web.
As is the case every year, the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max were put through a series of drop tests shortly after their release. The tests show varying results, but they do lend credibility to Apple's claims that the devices feature the most durable glass ever.
We also took a closer look at the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max camera, showcasing new features like depth control and Smart HDR.
Further, some iPhone XS users are reporting poor Wi-Fi and LTE performance. These issues seem to be related to an antenna issue that's causing "weak antenna gain. Whether or not Apple is able to fix the issue via software remains to be seen, but it's also still unclear just how widespread the problem is.
Meanwhile, Qualcomm significantly upped the ante against Apple this week. The chipmaker accused Apple of stealing its source code and giving it – and other trade secrets – to Intel. The following day, however, Qualcomm's CEO took a friendlier approach and stated that he thinks the two companies will resolve their differences and do business together again in the future.
This week also marked the release of macOS Mojave to the public. The update brings new features such as Dark Mode, new system applications, and more.
Last but certainly not least, Apple this week released a pair of small software updates to users. The Apple Watch received an update to watchOS 5.0.1 with Activity Ring fixes. Apple also released macOS 10.14.1 to developers for testing and tvOS 12.0.1 to the public.
